Williams Company has proposed a gas pipeline through south central PA and they are running into some farmers that are not to keen on a 100 foot swath of clear-cut through their property. Not only are the farmers a bit upset but most of the residents of Lancaster, Lebanon and York are now getting a taste of what the rest of the state has been dealing with for several years.
The key word here is “proposed”, If you were to listen to the shareholder’s meeting’s minutes (which I have posted on my twitter) you would think that they have already claimed Eminent Domain and the project is in full swing. This company is claiming to be justified because it is transporting Fracked Gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale south to be exported at Cove Point (the proposed LNG port in Maryland.)
The thing that I find the most disturbing about Williams Company is the lack of clarity in the forms they are selling to Landowners, for instance, the pipe could range from 2 to 48 inches in diameter and they could seek Eminent Domain across your property “up to 100 feet”.
This is a corporation that needs to be shut out of the area before they have chance to lay foot in it.
As I’ve said before, If they can’t survey it, they can’t dig it. Be aware of the Williams logo and be prepared to fight. They have a tendency to hold “town meetings” in churches that are close to the town that is being effected so they don’t have to register it with the borough or get any of the normal permits. These guys are the Posterboys of corporate fracking/pipeline slime. —--FFF OCCUPY OCCUPY THE PIPELINE
